Doing it old-school

So this past weekend me and fellow averageplayers John and Charles headed to a local to flea market that Nick had told us about to see if we couldn't find anything interesting. The results were better than I could have hoped for and I walked away a Genesis with Sonic and Landstalker, a referurbished NES with freshly cleaned copies of Super Mario Bros. and Duckhunt, Ninja Gaiden, and Paperboy, and finally with a little bit of finacial assistance from John a wonderful new Sega Sarurn with a free copy of Jurassic park for the Sega CD thrown in(no I don't know why they gave me a Sega CD game with a Saturn either). Now it bears mentioning that John and Charles also picked up a NES each, the guy just happened to have three, with the former grabbing Contra and Super Mario Bros. 2 while the latter picked up SUper Mario Bros. and Duck  Hunt, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Megaman 2, and Legend of Zelda. Needless to say there shall be lots of retro gaming talk and collecting stories on the podcast for the next few months.

These shoes are hot

So in general I'm not that into clothing, I'll wear pretty much anything that fits as long as it's not composed entirely of primary colours. I am however a great fan of a video game fan stuffs(art, music, movies ect.), and sometimes that includes clothing such as these fantastic shoes from http://kyozokicks.com/. Now I have to say they're all pretty fantastic but of specail note are the the Mirrors Edge hightops, Portal hightops, Okami vans, Zelda vans, and Phoenix Wright vans, which I shall post pcitures of here because I'm just that nice.

Now weren't those awesome. But seriously now you should head on over to http://kyozokicks.com/ to check out more awesome shoes, the stories behind their creation and a great showcase of amazing videogame fandom in every medium imaginable, once again that's http://kyozokicks.com/.

Well Hello Again

Hi there, hope you all have been enjoying my daily blogs('cause those have totally been happening). Alright maybe not so much but hey now I have alot to talk about at once, so lets get started. First off I've been playing games. First off the sequel to one of my favorite XBLA titles and the latest title from my favorite indie dev SKA Studios(play more ZP2KX), Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, and may I say it is fan-fucking-tastic, like I said at my preview from PAX East the wondefully bloody action from the first game remains intact with even more weapons to tear baddies apart with, though I must admit I've mostly been sticking with my old favorites the kami-kaze, though I do wish there was a little more variation between the two characters. Don't get me wrong though I still adore the game in a should-get-a-restrainging-order type of way and am really excited to try beating Nick's high scores on the arcade mode challenges and trying to beat the game on it's highest difficulty... that's going to hurt isn't it? Anyway moving on, Okamidem, goddamn that game is adorable, and dare I say it, actually better than the original Okamie, yes it looks a little worse but the sumistyle mitigates most of the lost of fidelity, while the adition of companions, touch screen controls for the brush, and a more reasonably paced game(30 hours as opposed to 100) more than make up for it. And actually I have two more games but I don't to try and squeeze them in here so I'll talk to you later

Say something goddamnit

Hey you, ya you reading this, why don't you say something. Here's the thing, I know that people listen to the podcast, I can check the stats for that people, there's no hiding. And every episode ends with us telling you to go to to the site but of the nearly three hundred people who download the podcast each month only about seventy go to the site each month, and absolutely none of you comment on itunes, or the site or even send email. So what I want to know is what I need to do to get you involved, I love our audience, knowing that people actually listen to this each month makes it worth doing and pushes us all to do better. But if we never get any feedback there's a wall we reach were can't improve anymore because we don't know how to best serve to our audience, so please, take a few seconds out of your day, hit the email button up at the top of the page and tell us what YOU want.

Speak no spoilers

So guess what, I actually played games today. By which I mean I finished God of War: Ghost of Sparta while flicking the xbox controller every now and then to keep it from turning off while collected a fortune in rent and shop income for Fable III. Let me explain Fable III first because I probably sound a little insane for sitting in the same spot for, oh seven hours, instead you know, playing the game, well the reason is that I've decided that as queen I'm going to keep every promise I made on my road to power while also financing an army powerful enough to save my kingdom, unfortunately that means I'm going to have to pay out of pocket hence me becoming the landlord for all of Albion. Sorry if that was a little vague but I'm trying to avoid spoilers for a fairly recent release, which is why my thoughts on the end of Ghost of Sparta will also be rather abridged. In short I loved it, I mean it's still god of war through and through but at the very end they do something rather uncharacteristic, they give you an ally, a true ally, someone who's not just helping you for personal gain and it's nice to feel for once that it's not just Kratos versus everyone, plus it's nice to see a god of war story that's driven by something other than revenge
